Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like Started conversation Jan 16, 2002
Someone, somewhere, is telling lies.
I don't know who it is, or why they are doing it.
I'm just tired of it, and all this nonsense.
I'm posting this here and in the Satyagraha space, mostly as a sign of my complete despair at the whole situation. I, and I suspect, the rest of you, could all be spending this time doing something positive.
Those that think that Quincy/Satyagraha is/are Lekz, fine.
Those of you that don't, fine.
There are perhaps two or three people who *actually* know the truth of this situation. One of them can't post here.
For the record, I believe the editors are attempting to act in the best interests of the community. I think that attempt is brave, but in this case may be doomed to failure.
Too many axes are being ground and sharpened, ready to be buried in people's backs.

Careful there Lucinda. I think a case of *complete* agreement between you and me would probably affect the fabric of time/space in ways I can't even guess at.

Hi Peta.
The editorial team have my sympathy when trying to sort this one out.
Either way you decide, you aren't going to make any friends, are you?
I'm always glad to have a with you though.

Thanks. One way or another, that's the problem with solving disputes.
Let's just have some and a break from it all.

Why do you think I leave all this sort of crap to the Community Editor? (Seriously, I do.)
She has my sympathy too though of course the blame will no doubt end up on my desk as well.
Meanwhile, I'll stick to developing this site for the people who deserve it. They're the ones in the majority, by the way.

Can't resist.
Community Editor = person whose job is the editing of the community?

Hi Mark.
I hope not too much ka-ka results for anybody, tho' I can see a regular storm brewing here.

Mark Moxon Posted Jan 17, 2002
Ah, there are only storms when you look for them. This is only a website, you know - it's not exactly war in Afghanistan.

On the other hand, it continues to amaze me how long people who are tired of something will continue to talk about how tired they are of that thing, and how terribly dull it is, and Ariston...

I started this thread. I consider it only polite to respond to *anybody* who posts in it. However tedious or deliberately tendencious those comments may be.
If you check my page, you'll see I'm unsubscribed from all the other threads on this subject.

I remember the ads too.
You should try having it as your job, Lucinda. If the Eds ignore people, they get criticised. If they express an opinion, they get criticised by those who don't agree with them. Ah well, I signed the dotted line at the bottom of the contract, so I've no right to whinge... but it's an interesting Catch 22 situation.
I'm thinking of going on an intergalactic cruise next week, but somehow I don't think 'He's too cool to see you right now' would go down too well.

There's a quote from Catch 22 that is particularly applicable to those that are banging on about this, actually.
I shall post it here when i can remember what it is.

And this is different from everyone else on h2g2 how exactly? Just kidding - of course it's different if it's your job and you can't just leave...
(but then - if you could just leave you'd get the same 'put up or shut up' line I seem to see a fair amount
)
Excuse me, I'm rambling. It's just more interesting than writing sort header code for work...

Yeah, I should be thankful for small mercies, really. Then again, I've got to hack together the FAQs for the upcoming release of the site, so who's counting...

I can't find the quote now .
It;'s something to the effect that some people are fond of the sound of their own voices, but principally they are fond of the sound of their own voices talking about themselves.
Which seems to be a fair description of what's going on 'over there'.
Being cynical, I'd say that it was all the usual suspects as well...and still no one knows who Keyser Soze is.
