I have just realised that I was not subscribed to this entry, so I apologise for the delay in writing this.

I think that 'Drummer' is the most profoundly spiritual of my poems, despite the fact that 'Staues' is more blatently about spiritual practice. I wrote it on Christmas Day 2001, in a state of extreme anguish about my marriage. I actually am well over that now, but I still think it asks a pertinant question, namely "are we the way that the universe experiences itself"?

It's next week and I'm not going because of a landscape commission started back in May that I thought would be done by now. It started as a patio but has grown stairs and walls. It keeps evolving and growing. It has to be done by mid August because I've got a one month TV producer gig coming up.

Hopefully, mid Spetember I'll be 'on the road' with all flags flying for a week or three. The autumn colours begin late Sept and the National Parks stay open.
