You haven't actually *read* the Bible recently have you? The jews had to sacrifice innocent animals, not eat bacon etc. for God to forgive their sins. Then his son comes down and sacrifices himself so that EVERYONE can have their sins forgiven. When Bill Gates brings out a new Windows package does he ever say the old one was wrong?
