You are really laying it out on the line here. I agree with much of what you say. Interesting to hear some of these ideas expressed elsewhere.

I particularly relate to the 'I used to be an atheist' section. Most interesting.

Cold isn't always a bad thing when trying to talk about philosophy - it doesn't pay to be too emotional, or at least so my philosophy would say. (Argh, self reference again...)

I put this up on h2g2 really just because I like the way you can format things with the footnotes etc, I've more been pointing my friends to look at it, but I'm glad you thought it was good smiley - smiley

Although I didn't do much reading around while working this stuff out (more talking to people), I've been told that the professional philosophers have got to these kind of ideas as well, and there should be some published stuff out there along these lines.
