Very informative. I don't know much on the topic, but I enjoyed it. Just a couple things:
You might want to put in headers. This is very easily done using the Your header here tags in GuideML.
Also, do you know what exactly happens on the molecular level that makes elastane behave in the strange manner that it does?
Other than that it really seems quite good to me.

Good one... But I feel this is a case for the update headquarters to replace the original (and quite funny) Lycra-entry.

Couldn't the old Lycra article live on alongside this more technical entry?
It would be a shame for one piece of work to wipe out another, just because they touch on the same subject, albeit from a completely different approach and with quite different writing styles.
It's not as if there's a limit on how big the Guide can grow or anything.

Thanks for the feedback
I've made a couple of changes. Well, I've shifted the text around a bit and added headers, but they seem a bit uninspired to me, so if anyone can think of anything better I'd be grateful.
Strider, I'm afraid I don't know more about the molecular structure - I've tried to cover this with a 'put simply' - still not good enough, is it?
As for the 'lycra' entry, if it's a problem all it needs is the title changed to 'Lycra Sportswear' or 'Uses of Lycra'. I honestly thought the two entries could both be in the guide without one invalidating the other, or I never would have started this.

Of course there's enough space. And I agree with your suggestion of reaming the other one. It's just that someone's gotta do it. For that you would need to knock at someone's door in the update HQ.

This is an interesting article and should certainly be in the guide. When it is published, you can request that link be added to the existing Lycra entry, which has very little in common with this one.
There's a problem with the following sentence: "It was first discovered by the US Rubber Factory in the 1930s when they tried extruding liquid latex into fine filament form."
You can't use "they" to describe a factory. Perhaps it should be rephrased as:
"It was first discovered by researchers at the US Rubber Factory in the 1930s when they tried extruding liquid latex into fine filament form."
There are a few missing apostrophes and typos:
neon coloured --> neon-coloured
elastanes important --> elastane's important
imediately --> immediately
womens underwear --> women's underwear
womans wardrobe --> woman's wardrobe

Well, this is really good, I can't see anyone giving you a rough time for this. Factual, informative and written with just the right tone, I think. A fine first effort!
>>Extruding - wonderful word! But I'm afraid I've no idea what it means.
>>Possibly the most unflattering garments ever invented
- Well, it just occurred to me that if you happen to have curves in all the right places, lycra can be, au contraire, very flattering indeed.
Perhaps you could say a little more by way of conclusion. I'm not sure what, but that section under the last header looks rather forlorn. Entirely up to you, of course.

'Extruding' is the correct technical term for squeezing something out of a nozzle and into some desired shape (eg, noodles)
tendancy -> tendency
'most of us at some point' - how about 'most people...' (the Editors frown upon first person style, really!)
As to the conclusion, IMHO it's fine as it summarises the point about elastane being mixed into lots of other fabrics.
Well done, and sure worth its own place in the Edited Guide
