Deek

We have Venus staying with us in the evening sky for quite some time yet. Catching Venus and Mercury together was quite outstanding this month.

Saturn is quite easy to find but it’s not as impressive as it can be when its rings are fully displayed. At the moment they’re not very prominent and we’re going to have to wait a few years before they’re back to their best.

The other two, missing from the ’set’ Uranus and Neptune, are difficult to see without at least binoculars. At the moment both of them are near Jupiter and are lost in the dawn light. But there will be a chance to get the both of them around December to complete your set, by using Jupiter as a pointer.

Deke
Uranus is nestled close up to Jupiter and should be easily picked out in a dark sky, well within the same binocular field. Neptune will be about 30 degrees back along the ecliptic from Jupiter.
