Why thank you
I take it you don't have any Ministerial robes, coz those would be black and they wouldn't make you blush

I was hoping we all had Ministerial robes
Mine are just bigger and blacker than the rest of yours, as is befitting of a man in my position

Another moment lost!!
I've sort of lost the plot of where this was all going, I'll have to recap I think
Before you start getting impertinent, I'm not going to try a different hat !

There we go, you'd had a nice weekend with a friend and I'd not had much time on line
One of the machines is being a little tempremental at the moment, so I have to keep going and nurturing it
It seems that I get logged on and have to log off again to attend to the beast

How is the machine now
* hopes it is not still consuming all your time and that we can catch up properly soon *

It seems to be doing a lot better, although the general opinion is that it has a sick hydraulic pump. It's one of those snags that the thing runs quite happily while you're watching it, then falls over - with no particular symptoms when your back is turned.
Most frustrating - especially for the crews.

Hmmm Machines!
They say they dont have personalities but I am sure they know when and how to be frustrating ...

Nine times out of ten, you find the quantity output by a machine is inversely proportional to the importance of the output of the machine.

Is that one of those well known laws? If so whose law is it anyway?
Mind you we could call it the Bassman Rule ....

Not guilty I'm afraid - I think it's one of Murphy's laws.
I remember reading a good article in Air Clues (the magazine of the RAF) where they had people write in with their own laws, which was quite funny.
One went along the lines of - a tradesman walking past asks you what's wrong with the bit of kit you've spent days trying to fix. You tell him and he says "Have you tried the firkling strut attachment" of course the fault turns out to be a broken firkling strut.
One thing that I have observed over the years when people are looking for something - wheather it be a lost item, or a fault in a bit of equipment - is the phrase "It was the last place I looked". It beggars the question - why didn't you carry on looking, then it wouldn't have been!!

So true! So true!
But then some people say it was in the first place they looked, then theyspend hours looking in other places just to pass the time before going back to look properly in that first place!
My specialty is putting things in safe places so I dont loose them - only to find the place was so safe I cant find them either

Its a good technique - I am sure they should teach it in school - save us all time in discovering it for ourselves - or is that what they call experiential learning?
