Okay Red... we need to decide how we're going to do this...
There are enough smileys that we could use one for each letter of the alphabet... or we could simply pick out a few and give them special meanings, almost hieroglyph like....
what do you think?
(don't forget to unsubscribe ... those Cats lurk everywhere!)

Red (and a bit grey) Dog Posted Jan 10, 2002
I`d work out some standard messages first and allocate simple (but unlikely) combinations of smileys to denote what it meant.
I`d start each one with two < winkeyes > so we know it`s blink code thus:
= kick the cr*p out of him etc.
Some standard messages could be :-
1. Lets go to the Mines a Pint of Uncle Heavy thread to discuss.
2. Back to the Dog House.
3. I don`t like what is going on here.
4. Help me.
... and so on. Waddya reckon ?

Good! I like the ... I was a bit worried about confusion, but how could I forget the age-old baseball trick of a starter signal
Okay, I look those signals... I'll find some smiley combos and post them on the page. I'll keep thinking of others, too.
We also need to determine who we're going to tell about this, and how to get them here

Apollo, I would strongly suggest starting a new guide entry but title it something innocuous. Put the smileys there and what they mean in. I can get the location to Ramblin, BBW, Ice Fang and UH by email [they`re the only ones I have].
You'll need a BIG warning not to post on the entry or start a thread or if you do unsubscribe afterwards.

I'm pretty sure this is a safe page... There aren't any links to it anywhere, and Ex-R just found it by mistake. If you still think we need a new page, I can do that too...
What about the smileys so far? I think they're looking good, but we need some more
The Drawing Board
Red (and a bit grey) Dog Posted Jan 13, 2002
OK no problemo on the location if you think it safe [presume that there are no links to here from Mt Olympus or other places]
How about reversing the meanings of some things for fun ....
= that wasn`t funny
= that`s hilarious but I don`t want the Cat to know it
Or think about using inanimate objects such as etc as that won`t imply or infer anything.
Some more suggestions ....
<?> = doesn`t know what he/she`s on about.
<?> = that`ll stump him/her
The Drawing Board
Apollo Posted Jan 13, 2002
But of course there aren't any links... notice I have 2 "Oracle at Delphi" pages all part of the scheme...
I like the reverse meanings much better than what I have. it shall be done I'm not quite sure where you're going with the <?> though...
The idea I had for inanimate objects.. see if you like this... is to assign each Dog that knows the code his own personal object-this would make identifying people easier and in code For instance, if I wanted to say Help Me Red Dog!! and your object was ...
??

Oooo 2 oracles - v. smart
I just meant by <?> to put in anything of your choice that was all. Not sure about assigning a personal code as it might just get too complicated but I don`t really know. Suggest we start simple then adapt as necessary.

Roger that
I suppose we could start bringing people here to get ideas... but i think we should do it one at a time. Too many people being here at once, not used to unsubscribing, is a bad formula Seeing as u have their e-mails, use your discretion...
And, before long, the Dogs will once again have the Cats right where we want them

Heh heh heh heh
Yeh, even with YK helping them all they`ve managed to do so far is mount predictable frontal assults on the Science Centre and the Naval facility. Bit boring - it all ends up bish-bash-bosh !
they`ll go crazy trying to work out what ACF code means .
We have to keep this place ultra top secret.

Apollo Posted Jan 17, 2002
Alright, I've added a few more updates...
This is gonna be sooo much fun
So who are you bringing in first, Cap?
The Drawing Board
Apollo Posted Jan 17, 2002
Oh yeah... we should come up with some kind of "launch date" to start using it
p.s. Here's an unrelated idea--A Cat-Nipper!! The cat nip draws the cats to it, like moths to a flame... then, it nips their tails off!! Bobcats!!
The Drawing Board
Red (and a bit grey) Dog Posted Jan 20, 2002
Rambling knows and I think we ought to tell BBW as well ... then just start using it .
I naturally like the idea of a Cat Nipper

Apollo, you have a new recruit to the ACFIA - Smilodon. Also a Cat but I think its a legitimate turn but be wary for the time being and keep ACFIA HQ double extra secret.
PS: did I ever tell you I have family in Aurora btw ? cant remember if it ever came up AND my job is taking me to Oklahoma in a couple of months. we`ll nearly be neighbours by gad !
The Drawing Board
Apollo Posted Jan 21, 2002
I've been through Aurora...quaint lil place As for Oklahoma, I've been there once Not quite neighbors, but then again, it's much closer than Australia!!
I'll keep an eye on Smilodon Prefect...
Are BBW and Ex-R gonna stop by and give us some input?
The Drawing Board
Red (and a bit grey) Dog Posted Jan 24, 2002
I emailed Rambling today and will do same to BBW tomorrow. Could we add an `affirmative` code - maybe three winkeyes

Guest no. 1 checking in.
This is soooooo cool! I can hardly wait to start using it. You guys have done an incredible job!
I like the idea of using inanimate objects as personal id's, but you're probably right to add those later.
Can only think of one code to add. A decoy signal that means nothing, but can be used to confuse the cats once they start trying to figure out the code. Perhaps
Also, we should refrain from referring to it as "blink code" when in the hearing of cats, since a search would turn up this page.

Just had another thought. In the article, you should replace the "mines a pint of Heavy thread" with "secret thread". That way, if this page gets discovered, we don't blow that thread as well.
I wonder if that thread gets lurked on.

Great stuff BBW as usual. I've seen SG do some *blink*blink* postings recently - do you think she's lurking here as well?
