Opera turns 10 today (30 Aug.)
They are giving away registration codes for free for as long as the party lasts!

I lost my registration code some time ago - be nice to have a new one Looks like a lot of folks are up for one too - the site has slowed to a crawl. Or was it always like that?

Thank you Ottox!
For those who didn't get a code - this is how I avoided the banner ad in Opera (in Windows):
Press F11?thread=Thank you Ottox!
For those who didn't get a code - this is how I avoided the banner ad in Opera (in Windows):
Press F11 for full screen mode If you want to type in a new URL, press F2 Use other keyboard shortcuts as well, such as: Ctrl+N for new window Alt+<- (left arrow) to go back Alt+-> (right arrow) to go forward Ctrl+F4 to close a window (or Ctrl+W as I found out after my F4 key got a bit sticky after I had accidentally spilled some wine on my keyboard)

No need for "quick"
Opera has turned free! Rejoice! Now the whole world can stop driving their crappy little Citroen 2CVs and start zipping around in a Bently.
Rah!

ooh, no banners!
I assume they've gone free because Firefox is and that's so popular.

I just downloaded a free version, but I was talking about the reasons for their decision, rather than the method.

more likely they are making enough cash from licensing it for embedded use (mobile phones, pda's, etc) that they can afford to make it free now.

If I download the new version, do I have to uninstall the other version, or do I just trash the folder that has the application in it?
