I like this... sad... but cool... but.... I honestly don't know what a spacehopper is... I should, shouldn't I!?? Sounds like a Douglas Adams-ism...
I think this is real artwork... yes... and it's past my bedtime, so I'm not very coherent... I like the use of colors and shapes and the placement... just conveys emotion and catches the eye... YEAH!!! Good show!!!

Oh dear! It seems that Wowbagger, spimcoot and I are guilty of ageism again doesn't it Dragonfly!
A spacehopper was a big, round ball with small handles usually cleverly designed to look like ears which small children (and adults!) sat on and bounced about with! They were a great craze back in the earlyish 70s... no home was complete without one!

And there was I thinking they'd made a comeback and that I was working at the cutting edge of fashion, rather than ironic retro pop culture reference. Of course, if they have made a comeback it'll be precisely because of that ironic retro pop culture. Hah hum. I remember when I was eighteen and realised that everything from here on in would be nostalgia. Mind you, even I never expected long shorts and scooters to come back. What next, kids collecting designer shrapnel instead of pokemon? Let's hope so.
Any old way, or new way, or my way (am I the only one who gets My Way and Mein Kampf mixed up?), thanks for the sentiments Dragonfly - nice to have made an impression despite the spacehopper. As I've said here before, appreciation always appreciated and gratefully received.
Anyone for a Spangle?
Note: Spangles: the drabbest, tasteless-est, boiledest boiled sweets you could ever hope to encounter failing to live up to the name 'Spangles' in me youth.

I'll pass on the spangles...
Spacehoppers still exist... and they show them on BBC America as part of their ...hermmm... moment to recognize what channel they are, if you will. But I think I had one when I was little, and I know a neighbor had one. I know they still exist, but they just don't have the popularity of skateboards, bikes, scooters, et al.

Such a shame
I am waiting for the hoola-hoop to come back so I can see if I still have the same expertise of my youth! Ah... the heady days of hooping and throwing bean-bags and French skipping... and two-ball against the garage wall to annoy the neighbours and imagine greatness as a juggler or the cheers of the crowd at Wimbledon.

...and she has a guitar student who thinks that's SO COOL... (Sorry Dragonfly, I still think that's funny! I mean, I'm 7 years older, and I don't remember all that much about what your student thinks was so great...)

It is hilarious to me, as well... I'd rather forget the 80s and the 90s... Bad things happened... ::shudder::

I have a cute reindeer on top of my computer... I'll think about that...
Why would someone want a flatscreen monitor!?? You can't put cute things on top of it as easily...
