As a second language, it takes a lot longer than 2 weeks to learn Sequoyah, which is also the name of the syllabary. But it is a "phonetic" language, so one needn't learn obtuse spellings to write or silent consonants to read it. Thank you. I was just relating the popular version of the story.
My knowledge of the language is almost nil.
I just thought it would be interesting to have such a man in the guide.
I have downloaded several files on the syllabary, including the one you mentioned.
You sound knowledgeable. Would you like to help with the entry?
The main impetus for the entry was the number of things named after Mr. Guess (Gist?) that people are familiar with without knowing who the person was. I find that lack of curiosity to be irritating.
