Discussions Relating to the Lifetime Ban of Silent Lucidity
Created | Updated Mar 11, 2003
This page has been created in accordance with the Transgressions Procedure for Lifetime Bans.
Silent Lucidity has been banned from h2g2 for life.
This is because an IP trace conducted on this account proves it to have been opened and operated by the same person who opened and operated the 'Arpeggio' and 'Mourning Becomes Electra' accounts. As the person who operated the 'Arpeggio' account has been banned from h2g2 permanently, we have no option but to close the 'Silent Lucidity' account.
Representations on behalf of Silent Lucidity were considered at the time of the ban, but the Editors' decision is final. Further correspondence on this subject will not be entered into by the Editors. If you wish to discuss the ban or events surrounding it, we'd appreciate it if you did it here, as Conversations are much easier to follow if they occur on one place. Thank you.
Meanwhile, implementing the Transgressions Procedure for Lifetime Bans has brought up some good points. In no particular order:
Although this has been a relatively 'open and shut' case on which to test the Transgressions Procedure, we'd hope everyone would agree that this Forum allows a constructive arena for people to air their views, which will be especially useful if cases crop up that aren't completely black and white. If anyone has any comments or ideas for developing this process, then do let us know via the Community Soapbox.
We'd like to highlight Lucinda's suggestion for a new process to cater for 'parole'. If you're interested in the effects of lifetime bans, then this is an excellent read; we hope that the Community as a whole can mull it around and come up with something that's worth implementing (like this process). Let us know when it's ready for our consideration.
Thanks to everyone for participating, and feel free to continue the discussion here.
