What a fascinating place! What an intrepid explorer. Your unflagging determination to tell the little know story of the mysterious denizens of the True North continues to amaze me. I await your next discovery.

Resorting to self-flattery when no one else will do the job for you, eh? I guess that's what the whole Dragon court thing was all about then...

Well, I happened to be wandering about on your page, and saw the remark about you having to travel there occasionally. I figured da Yooop had to be a well-known place, wherever that might be. Had to find out for myself. Terminal curiosity strikes again.
As for a queendom...you really don't want to rule ther, do you?

ruling 'da yoop' would be QUITE an experience...which I dont think I ever want to experience.
I really didnt mean to rule Damogran, either, it just sorta happened. You know, you build a country, and they will come...
wouldja like to see pictures of 'da cabin in da yoop'? she said shyly...
It's quite beautiful there.

Is 'da cabin' another example of the 'build it and they will come' mentality? Starting off this kingdom (queendom?) from rather modest beginnings, arent we?
Sure, I'll bite...where's the pictures? Is there any nudity involved?

Nicely done. I like the use of the pictures...too bad they'll be scrapped in the approved version.
On a technical note, I would recommend you do that section as a definition list, so the text doesn't appear jammed together like that. If you want to do it, but need instructions, or just have no freaking idea what I'm talking about, let me know.

gee...you LIKE it *blush*
but, ah...which section as a definition list???
"more wonnerful places..."? or some other part. I think I need breaks between a coupla other paragraphs, too.
I know how to do lists, but is there a spechul kind you are talking about? I always like to learn new stuff. When I get REALLY brave I'm gonna 'speriment with XML and get my very own parser. I dont like css very much cause it isnt very cross-platform/browser, but this xml I like.
oh, an' didja go to any of the links??? da yoop is way cool...

PS even if they scrap the pics in the "approved" version, I can keep my own. I have relabeled a couple of my old versions of articles Title [original version] so they come up in a search right along with the 'approved versions'. You get to hang on to the forums that way too.

It seems this has been happening quite a bit with me lately... leaving out important keywords that I was sure I had written. The section I was talking about is the one on the falls. I have several examples of what a definition list should look like on this article here, as long as you don't mind the mess, as it is still under construction: http://www.h2g2.com/A279065
A definition list begins with the tag. Then, the term you are defining gets a tag in front of it, and the definition description is opened with a tag. The effect is that the definition description part gets indented from the rest of the text, and the definition terms are pulled out into the normal margin to make it stand out.
I've not really enjoyed doing them on the Guide, however, because they become quite clumsy, thanks to the error-checking facilities here. Ordinarily, the only tag you would have to close is the tag, since the next tag overrides the previous tag, and vice-versa. But the Guide's error checking simply makes sure that EVERY tag is closed, even if it be something like my tag that means nothing. And since I know I'll make mistakes somewhere, and I want those to be caught, I have to go around closing all my and tags, when it's really unnecessary extra work. Sounds like I'm whining over nothing, but in an article with 4 or so definition lists, this gets to be a bother. Hmmm....now that I think about it, you can get the same effect by enclosing the description part in a tag, and forgetting about the definition list altogether, if you don't mind having a blank line between your term and your description.

yes, I agree with you on using definition lists. I like the way yours look. Gonna use them more often. I was heavy into using tables for layout, but am trying to get away from that.
I will play with it a bit, with the section above the waterfall section, too. I put the waterfalls and other links in paragraph form cause I wasnt sure how many links I was actually going to add in there. I started out just talking about all the other cool stuff, and later went back and added the links as I found them.
Oh, and there are a coupla reasons you gotta close the tags: some browsers have trouble with tags that arent closed. Like Netscape wont display a table without closed tags, but IE will. An' also xml requires that all tags be closed. Like if you are working with GuideML you gotta even close non-container tags like or or you get errors. I dunno how the editor works when you are writing straight html, as I have been using GuideML since they began to provide that option.
Thanks for the tips, I will play with it as soon as I get a chance.
