So the bit where - was it Lynda with a Y? - was tracking death on a map represented death-by-dalek-bombs not death-by-delta-wave?

A couple of interesting things about Delta Waves - Deltas are changes from the values previously captured and reported - so 'the stock market was up 6 points today' records the Delta. And Delta Waves are the brain-waves of deep sleep. I got a bit distracted by that particular irrelevancy at the time.

I took the changing continents to be a graphically representation of the bombings, not their literal physical effect.

I'd agree with that. Which makes it seem even more likely that RTD is an X-Men fan as there was much of that sequence that smacked of Jean Grey and Phoenix...

Still, if you are going to steal, steal from the best. smiley - biggrin

Lynda specifically said that the Daleks had started bombing. I assumed the changing of the map to indicater the horrendous destructive power the Daleks are capable of.smiley - shrug

Correct.

The delta-wave was never activated.

Yes B. The delta-wave never got activated. If it had been, then Lynda wouldn't have been able to report the destruction on Earth, because she'd be lying in a heap with her major nervous system prolapsed on the floor.

Traveller in Time smiley - tit trying to figure out
"The radiating 'Rose' stepped out of the tardis, saying 'I looked into the Tardis', clearly making the Tardis not her person. She says 'I am the Bad Wolf' and she rearranges/ spreads the letters 'Bad Wolf' over time and space as a reminder to herself. (This is clearly not a hidden background action by something or someone else)
The Doctor calls her 'Rose', she reacts as if spoken to and does not comlete or change the addressing.

Seems to me 'The Time Vortex' is some kind of knowledge, transferred from one to the other. The Doctor heals 'Rose' by extracting the knowledge from her (makes her forget <?&gtsmiley - winkeye. There is something extra in this 'Time Vortex', 'Rose' uses it to change time and space, and even The Doctor sends (part of) it away back to the Tardis.
'The Time Vortex' seems to be a massive load of information, burning your cells out, perhaps this information is even an entity on its own.

A way of defining an entity is: Self awareness and beeing complex enough to interprete and adapt to reality.

One thing I get headeaches from is: she had the 'Time Vortex' in her head, knowing everything from begin of times until the end of times. How could she take any action that did not happen without her already knowing of it. Did she deflect the desintegration beam, or did it just not reach her, did she spread the words or did she know those words were spread, did she know these words had to be spread or did she decide then to spread the words 'Bad Wolf' over the episodes.

Rose was definately the bad wolf, strictly speaking though a combination of Rose and the Tardis was bad wolf, and rose will never remember what happened until she becomes rose+tardis again. The bad wolf persona existed for a short amount of time, although it give her time to drop the words in time and space.

The ending was very deus ex machina for me.

My thoughts at the end of the series:

Series exceeded all expectations. The first episode was the weakest but they got better and better after that. The daleks made it for me. Ecclestone was great but, as discussed above, one series was not enough. I thought there were perhaps three or four episodes too many.

*sigh*. Oh for the days when a series of Doctor Who was at least 26 episodes.

In terms of airtime, you've had the equivalent of 26 episodes.

What a great series. I have to say I was not the greatest fan of Dr Who beforehand, but this series had me hooked. smiley - oksmiley - tardis

Regarding 26-episode series - weren't the shows only 25 minutes long in the past? So we've had something approaching a "normal" 20-episode series this time round?

Doesn't count. I want more. I want to go to Woman Wept and walk in the moonlight with the Doctor. I want to see all the things they talked about. Hang the expense, hang CEs other work obligations. I want them to start filming now. And I want to watch.

It took thenm *eight months* to film what you just had. No halfway decent or sane actor would commit to the over a years filming necessary to film that sort of run.

Nr indeed wopuld the BBC tie themselves to that type of schedule either. Thats a lot of money to spend on something that may tank at any time.

Pah. Actors and crew these days are wimps. Hartnell managed it in his 50s. (smiley - winkeye)
