On the TV-show Community, they sometimes watch a show called Inspector Spacetime. It's about a man who travels the universe in what appears to be a British red phonebooth, along with his companion the Constable. Sometimes they fight these alien beings called Blogons, that look not entirely unlike Daleks.

Anyone else remember Professor X (not the X-Men)?

Can't say that I remember it, but I seem to have just lost half an hour reading about it!

Just rewatching A Good Man Goes to War and I've just realised we know and have seen when River learns the Doctors true name: it wasn't their wedding.
She reads it on the side of the cot: the Doctor says he slept in the cot and the names on it are written in Old Gallifreyan. We're told River can read Gallifreyan in The Time of Angels so she simply read his name from the side of the cot.
What do people think? Too simple/banal?

Geggs Posted Mar 5, 2012
Possibly. We know she knows Old High Gallifreyan, since she wrote it on the data cube of the Byzantium.
On an complete unrelated note, which I mention for the interest of the denizens of this parish, a new CGI children's TV show has started today (I think) called Tree Fu Tom. It's about a boy called Tom travels to the magical kingdom of Treetopolis (or something like) and in doing so acquires incredible Tree Fu powers. But why would that be relevant to us? Well, Tom is voiced by Sophie Aldred, and his sidekick Twigs is voiced by David Tennant.
Yep, in this show the Doctor is a Companion's sidekick.

You could write an article on that as part of this month's Create thingy
I keep seeing it advertised on Cbeebies, but not watched it yet. I watched David Tennant read the bedtime story a year or two ago, though.

I guess I could, but more research would be required. I do feel like I'm the researcher of kid's TV at the moment.

How's your Lazy Town article coming along, Magwitch?
*Suspects that this conversation is going slightly off topic*
Did anyone buy the latest Revisitations boxset? I've got the original DVD releases, so is it worth getting again?

Ah, now Lazy Town is interesting. When I first saw it I wondered how they had managed to find the actor for the Sportacus role, thinking that, given the physical requirements - split jumps, backflips and such like - a very specific skill set was needed.
And then I saw the credits. He was also the creator of the show, writer, producer, and in several cases director. The casting department didn't need to find him at all. He built the show around what he knew he could do. He's the athletic Orsen Wells of kid's TV!

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky. Posted Mar 6, 2012
Given that my PC died in February...
I've not found it yet, it's on one of the hard drives from the old PC (along with loads of other stuff) I'll find it and get on it, very soon <BB<.
Expect something by the end of March (if not sooner)

New interpretation of Shada.

That book does sound good. I think I'd rather like one of those.

It's on my wish list. Don't forget the Shada spin off Dirk Gently is on TV on Mondays at the moment.

Oh, and to avoid further drift, there's another thread for Dirk: F19585?thread=8290969

Shada's been novelised? And just as I'd completed my collection of Target novelisations!
Happened across Dirk Gently in the TV listings and set it to series record - not watched it yet. It's just 3 eps, right?

That's right - 3 episodes (and the pilot) - out on DVD now, I believe.
It's very quiet around here while we wait for Doctor Who to be on, isn't it? If, like me, you're suffering withdrawal symptoms I'll mention that you can get a free audio adventure to download if you buy this month's Doctor Who Magazine.
Oh, and if anyone has read any Doctor Who books, I wrote an article on the Ninth Doctor books which has been in Peer Review since February, but hasn't been commented on since the day it was added there. Once upon a time Doctor Who dominated h2g2 - have we all gone complacent and written all about it that there is to write?

I read a few (specifically, four) Target books many moons ago. And Lungbarrow. And the eighth Doctor's last book (whatever that was called). I have no doubt that there's loads of good stuff that I've missed, but I'm also sure that I haven't got the time to fill in the blanks.
If I didn't have a job, and a wife, and kids, and friends, then I might find the time, but alas no.

If anyone has, by any chance, read any 9th Doctor novels, would you be able to pop along to F48874?thread=8290494 at all? It would be appreciated!

Sorry, but the thought of Doctor Who and Mal Reynolds having a conversation is too much for my humble brain.
