Is it wrong for a supposed adult to be looking forward to a CBBC programme almost as much as The Runaway Bride?
Sonic lipstick - how cool. Although, really, what does it do? It just disguised as lipstick, or does it sonic on lipstick?
Also vibrating lipstick? Doesn't Ann Summers do that? Isn't that pushing it a bit far on CBBC even for RTD?

Yes. Go stand in the corner Kerr.....

Yes Mr. Ferretbadger Sir.
Can't I use an excuse the fact the RTD written Century Falls was also a kids' show, and that got an adult following?
Not to mention the fact that I mostly want to watch it to lust after Sarah Jane? That's a pretty adult thing to want to do isn't it? Or is it an adolescent thing?

Okay, so I wasn't actually blushing. But there isn't a smiley, so I improvised.
The clips on Blue Peter showed an alien that looked very much like 'Mary', the alien Tosh sagged in Torchwood. Canon lesbianism for Sarah Jane?

Dear Santa,
For Christmas I would like Sarah Jane Smith to be involved in actual lesbian action on TV.
Thank you

Well "sagging" is generally part of the traditional aging process.

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 18, 2006
And the aging process is what?
Clearly we're *both* so busy thinking naughty thoughts about SJ we can't type.

Might we be a bit more careful about spoilers, please? In fact, I'm going to change the header of the first post just in case.

Oh, bugger, point taken. I suppose both the sonic lipstick (I can't wait to see that in action) and the alien are a bit spoilery. I assume that's going to show up in the series- I don't see how it fits with the Bubbleshock plot.

CYBERHUMAN Posted Dec 18, 2006
I predict it is going to a pile of absolute and utter rubbish. Russell T. Davies is playing a dangerous game as far as the success and the future of "Doctor Who" is concerned. The original series, with it's few bad episodes here and there, is starting to look like pure gold compared to "Torchwood" and what I suspect "Sarah Jane Adventures" is going to be like.

Yeah it will be the end of sci-fi as we know it becuase RTD isn't making exactly the show that a few obessive nerdy fans want.
The BBC will ingore the very good ratings and the commercial sellability of the new shows becuase on message boards up and down the land the old fans bemoan the fact that RTD has made some popular TV.

Sorry, you're basing your prediction on what, Cyberhuman?
See, I'm looking forward to it on the basis that
a) It's going to be produced by RTD, who has a proven track record for producing excellent Children's TV (Century Falls, anyone? Dark Season?)
b) It's being scripted by authors with proven track records in both Doctor Who and more general TV writing
c) It starts an extremely attractive woman playing a character she's played well for years and that I personally would not kick out of bed for eating crisps.

A quote from Gareth Roberts: "It's more like Doctor Who than Doctor Who is."
A strange thing has happened while I've been loving new Doctor Who. I find it difficult to watch Tom Baker episodes now, and really can't get myself interested in them any more, whereas those black-and-white episodes are more fascinating than ever. My favourite Doctors now run pretty much in order of appearance, starting with Hartnell and ending with McGann, and the same with the new run - I really liked Eccleston and so liked Tennant slightly less (while still liking him). Last year, he was the new guy; this year he's The Doctor, and I suspect that will have a positive affect on his performance.
Back to The SJ Adventures, I hear Samantha Bond appeared on Blue Peter in character. That makes me happier than you could possibly imagine. I love it when the actors choose to keep it 'real'. Lis Sladen's superb at that - switching effortlessly from 'actress-who-played-Sarah' to 'the-actual-Sarah-Jane' with the flicker of an eyelid. She was always my favourite guest when I used to run conventions, always slightly flirty and a lot of fun, and speaks to every attendee as if they're sharing a secret together.
Cannot wait for this series.

I'm not actually sure which I'm looking forward to more - Runaway Bride or SJA. Trouble is, I'm going to get my first taste of SJA when I've got a stinking hangover. Do I want bright colours and fast moving pictures on New Years Day?
I really hope it's more Century Falls than Dark Season, though.

Must admit I've extreme misgivings about the Christmas Special...
Mostly because I really do hate every character I've seen Ms Tate play - and from the little I've seen of the character she plays in Dr Who - I'm not sure it's going to change my opinion.
