After RP went down quite well, here is one on Estry Inglish to accompany it.

The section "the coalescence of yod" is very confusing. Either I am totally misreading it or you have put a /y/ where you meant to put a /j/. This makes the rest of it incomprehensible.

Another fine epistle from the prolific space-cadet known as Spiff.

You seem to say this twice ...
but it can be heard in the House of Commons as well as being used by some of the members of the Lords. It can be heard on the BBC and it is well established among the business men in the City.
... dontcha?
... albeit phrased oh-so-slightly different the first time around.

Jude Law - does he speak EE or RP?
Old Spice (who's Australian) thinks he's a posh boy. I think he sounds like an oik.

Hi Gnomon,
thanks for reading and commenting
I'm not sure i ever really understood the 'CoY' thing; sounds more like an episode of Conan the Barbarian to me!
I just lobbed this into the WW without rereading, so I'll need to read it myself before I can try to work out why you're right!
back soon

oops, sorry Dr M, not ignoring you, honest!
likewise, need to reread my own entry!
busy morning here in Strasbourg, on the job-hunting trail...
no... not 'on the job'! the '-hunting trail' part was non-negotiable!

Do you have a number of IDs so you can commend your own entries.

Nah, I've got a French mate here in Strazzer who i convinced to register. He hardly ever comes online, though.
i turned over my French Connection page to him, on the basis that it would be cool to have it run by a legit Frog, but in reality i have taken to signing on as him and doing the updates myself.

Hi spiff.
I'm sorry but WW is really not the place for writing of such high calibre.
I suggest you move this to PR.
Nothing personal.
