I am a lovesick fool myself.... and I just kinda glazed over your entry... I know, that's not the niceset thing to do, but I have to be honest and admit I didn't study it that much, so you won't give me a pop quiz at the end of this thread or some such...

What really grabbed me, love, was this bit:
It’s hard for people to understand how I feel because we are pretty far apart…me in NC, him in NY…and I haven’t seen him in about a year and a half. But like I said, I know what I feel in my heart, and that is what helps get me through. Unfortunately now he is away fighting for our country...

My sweetheart is in England. I'm in Colorado. Yes. A long distance. At least I saw him in Mid August. It's soooo hard having relationships like ours. I only relate to you a little bit though... Like you, I know what I feel in my heart...

He's a brave guy, and I'm sorry I didn't catch his name, my dear... You have a lot to be proud of with him...

It is hard being in a long distance relationship, but I know if we can make it through the next few years that we will be apart by any distance, that we can handle anything. (No I wouldn't quiz you on my entry!)

Sad thing is that my friend is in a relationship with a guy and she wants to marry him...but he's in the military...and she told him if he got sent over seas, she wasn't going to wait for him. I don't understand how you can love someone, but as soon as something comes up that can prove how you feel, you just give up. I guess I don't understand because I love my guy too much to do that!

It is nice to know that I'm not the only one in this type of situation (long distance). I'm sure you guys will make it through too.

Indeed... there are a lot of people in our type of situation!!!... in fact, I've thought about starting a club about it... But I'm a bit busy with the Musehome and I started a Feminist Alliance... sooo.... yeah....

If you are comfortable with the idea of a long-distance love club deal.... go for it!!!

I can't believe your friend could drop her sweetie only because she would have to wait for him.... I can understand anxiety and impatience....

But "Love is Patient, Love is Kind", right!??

I also know a great poem by Emily Dickinson, regarding love and time... I wrote it on a card to my Ian(in England) and sent it... let me know if you'd like to "hear" it...

I'd love to *hear* that poem. I've actually been looking to get some poems together to put in a scrap book or something. Maybe I could add it to my collection.

I wouldn't know how to start a long-distance love group, but it's a neat idea...

That's a good poem. Short and sweet and tells it like it is. My friend has been helping me try to find military jokes to help keep my guy laughing while he's overseas...this is the same friend who may end up dumping her man if he has to go over there. At least she doesn't judge me for my decision to stick with my man...if so, I'd have to kick her butt.

I was only kidding!! If she doesn't agree with what I choose, oh well, at least it wasn't her choice...I just hope she doesn't dump her bf since she says she wants to marry him...

Yeah, it seems that way to me too...but I guess that's because I'm just head over heels for my guy. I don't know what I would do without him!! Luckily, things overseas are going well for our military...so maybe he can come home soon!!

Well I feel that if you feel so dedicated to a person that you plan to marry him, you should make that commitment without being selfish... seems your friend is thinking more of herself than him... that's how I see it, anyway....

I haven't started one.... you've written a guide entry before... Just write this one as a guide entry...

Perhaps look at other clubs to see how they are organized...
