For a long time now, I've been asking for a smiley wearing glasses. I know we have 
, but I'm not a geek and the geek isn't smiling. There's 
, but that's wearing sunglasses. The traditional text smiley for somebody wearing glasses is 8 -) (without the space, of course), but that gives 
(aka bigeyes) - not what I want at all.
So, once again, please please PLEASE can we have a smiley 
wearing glasses.

So you want some sort of basic 
rather than just on their own (like the handcuffs).
NB As for a text shortcut, there's always reversing the direction:

If we are going to have a smiley with glasses may I propose a range of tinted lenses for those of us who wear Irlen lenses...mine are blue
