A Conversation for Notes From a Small Planet
It's patriotic to seek justice.

I assume Justice is a value as important to Brits as to US citizens, hopefully linked to your concept of a good government just like it is for US citizens. So if you feel that this war is unjust or misdirected, then it is patriotic to oppose the war. You don't have to be seeking some utopian ideal of peace in order to say that justice is not being served by these attacks.
To lose sight of justice or the greater good of one's nation, only focusing on what the current leader says we should do, is not "patriotic." It's just failing to think for yourself.
So thanks for the patriotic columns, Ormy!
