A Conversation for Protective Measures Against Chemical and Biological Contamination
Walking?

You probably won't be walking for more than ten minutes after a military concentration chemical attack. Nerve agents will incapacitate you in five minutes or less (before they kill you), Blood agents will kill you in ten minutes, choking agent will stop you in 30 seconds and blister agents will begin to make themselves felt in about ten minutes (three seconds if in the eye).
Don't put the air conditioning on. Air from outside will still be used for the overpressure - leave it off.
Best advice - get under cover then find a room, close windows & doors and remain there until help arrives. Clothes may be removed, but it does leave rather a lot of skin exposed to contamination. Outer clothes would be a best bet - but leave them outside the room.
Parting shot - any military concentration chemical attack would cause a high percentage of civilian casualties - ask Saddam, he's tried it.
