I agree that this is useful information, and I feel it should become part of the Edited Guide. Thanks for taking the time to inform us of this life-enhancing tip.
To make it fit in with our House Style, you should change the headers so that they are not in capitals. They should have a capital letter at the start of each word, and the rest of the word should be in lowercase. You should also remove the header "Introduction" as all h2g2 entries use the Entry name itself as the header for the introductory paragraph.
Please use paragraph tags rather than BR tags to format your paragraphs: put at the start of each paragraph and at the end of each paragraph.
Good work!

20th century = 20th Century
veiwing - viewing
throgh - through
acctuly = actually
veiwers veiw = viewers view (an apostrophe needs to be there somewhere...)
strategicly = strategically
ordanary sock = ordinary sock
the dirteist sock = dirtiest
of grabing it off the DVD player = grabbing
To corectly place your new movie sock = correctly
then carfully lay the sock down = carefully
with the tip floped over the front = flopped
sock on AFTER (needs to be in tags, not capitals)
puting in your = putting
Infared = infrared
controll = control
A very interesting entry, and something I might try, if I can just find out how to work the DVD player

That's OK. Take as long as you like.
Good work! I think this looks really good now, although nobody else has shown any interest in it yet. I'm sure that will change soon.
In the meantime while we're waiting, there are a few of other things you could do to tidy this:
1. It is really when you are watching movies in the dark that the problem of the blinding blue light occurs. I think it is worth mentioning somewhere early on that all this action takes place under cover of darkness. You do mention it at the very end, but I think that is too late.
2. The Editors have problems with long phrases joined together by hyphens like this:
half-empty-half-a-year-old-but-still-not-moldy-bag-of-flaming-hot-cheetoes
because the browsers insist on putting them all on one line, which messes up the formatting of the page. You could split it up like this:
half-empty half-a-year-old-but-still-not-moldy bag of flaming-hot cheetoes
3. I'd be wary of saying "giving you brain cancer" because this will scare people, and remote controls don't actually give you brain cancer. We don't wan't to panic people. I'd say instead "zapping you with infrared rays" which sounds good and is strictly accurate.

I think Galaxy Babe counts as someone else Gnomon . Anyway, I'm rather partial to this entry. Well done squin-42
Anyway, I do agree with your suggestions Gnomon. Also Disater should be Disaster. I would also be inclined to put spaces before and after the dashes in the headings (e.g. STEP 1 - Attaining A Sock). These are all fairly minor points, so I think this is nearly ready to be picked.

Sorry GB. I realised you were there after I posted my message. I can't actually see the conversation when I'm writing my reply.

I'm back, I've just been having computer troubles the last few months, along with school troubles, work troubles, family troubles, friend troubles, relationship troubles, my cat dieing, my dog getting cancer, memorizing lines for school play, strgguling with insomnia, and trying to keep my sainity . Now everythings pretty much calmed down, I'm gettin everything straigtened out, I saw my favorite band, AC/DC, Live (Hurricane relif concerts are the only good things about Florida). Well, thanks again for the tips everyone, I've been thinking of making a new entree too, if I can find the time (In other words if I'm; on the computer, think about it, not in a lazy mood, and can think about somthing to write about).
Oh, Gnomon, I'm no exactly sure what you're trying to tell me I should do, with the darkness, can you explain?

What I was trying to say was that you don't say that it is dark in the room with the DVD player, and that this is the reason that the light burns into your retina. You should mention this early on in the entry.

This is a cool entry! Nice one.
Not much help to me as whilst my combined DVD/Freeview thingy has no visible laser it *does* have a big blue bar about 2" long by a quarter inch high under the DVD drawer. It only comes on when you switch the thing off.
Still, I *did* have a DVD player with the visible laser and wish I'd thought of the sock...

That's better! There are still a few tiny spelling mistakes here and there, but that's not a problem, as we have to give the sub-editor something to do!
I think this is ready to be picked now. I hope that a passing scout feels the same.

thanks, oh and roymondo, perhaps you could put some electrical tape (thats nice and dark)over the 2" blue bar, as long as it doesn't block anything else.
