You start with talking about Aces and go on about sub-eds afterwards ?
Anyway, I think you should also mention that Guardian Angels do a lot of ACEing (like me )

I was just about to ask if you meant to do that! Change from ACEs to sub eds.
I'm also not sure I agree with either of these two statements...
'allows power tobe distributed as required'
That's not really what happens in the ACEs forum as far as I've noticed...
'enthusiasm and toughness are important' toughness? What's that for?
Hoping you can enlighten me.

Toughness is for times of crisis and flame-fighting. THe whole business witht he change to sub-eds is that I stole the layout form another of my articles, and am working down, gap-filling and altering. Bye for now!

Dancer, how'd you like to co-write a bit about the GAs? I'd be happy to let you have a little section in the article, just say the word, and it shall be done...

Good idea, to keep the layouts the same.
You could turn this into a uni project, get the 4 official ones done, and then have a fifth entry for the GAs. Putting a lot of stuff about an unofficial volunteer scheme in with one of the four official ones might look a bit odd...
And talking of uni projects, you could add an entry on the university field researchers. That way you get all the five badges in.
There's also a 6th badge, for a scheme that doesn't exist, but there is one person with a badge. Can you find it?

Well, we *could* go on to stuff about Muses, Keepers, etc, the Musicians' Guild, etc, but I think they don't warrant an investigative Entry. They run themselves pretty well. As for turning it into a Uni Project, I'd have to check with the Towers on a few things. Presuming the same rules apply as if I were subbing a batch, then all the 'we' stuff and the interview bits would have to be reworked - and that's the style of them. Certainly a linked page, though. I'll have a think, speak to Chris, and see what happens! You're a , Mina!

Well, that's true, but I assumed you would want these in the edited guide anyway? If I was wrong, then don't worry about it.
I know there are a lot of clubs and stuff on here, maybe it would be worth just doing the official ones then, otherwise everyone will want a mention.
Just shout when you want me to do somehting btw.

I'm going to see if I need to approach the style differently, or if I can sub the entries or at least get a pemit to do them like this. They certainly might want making Edited, if they're good enough! Also, there'd be a lot fo us on the team - 5 already!

Hi there,
I'd be happy to co author the entry, or make another if you want, but I just think that mentioning it as a subheader, and the similarities plus differences might be nice, with a link to the guardian angels page
I think as an investigative series, it should not be edited guide, but at some point declared "sealed" and then someone and ask Shazz to mention it in the Post.
This way, it'll have a few benefits:
1. A wide exposure.
2. It'll be possible to make a blob to the post article, and an extra blob is always fun (We might even ask for blobs of artwork from the italics, and artwork can be done by Amy the Ant if she wants or DoctorMO - both are really talented )
3. Non GuideML tags and style are useable

I'll consider all of those suggestions. I intend to contact the post - a serialisation or just links. These reports would probably need to be reviewed when a major change takes place - so any EG entry would need to be dated. I'll discuss it with a few people - and you can certainly co-author it, Dancer. I'll add you sometime soon...

Well, I don't really know how to write well, so I'll put in something in the spirit of the entry (kind of) and you can edit it (be brutal, I don't mind). I'm a hebrew speaker, so mind my horrible grammag and I don't know hot to make the (tm) for Dodgem(tm) (&tm; does this work? no), oh, and sorry for the too long footnote.
The Guardian Angles is a group of researches who dedicate their activities as GAs to helping other researchers. They do it in meny ways, one is having a guardee - Guardees are people the guardian angle "guards". Some do this by keeping a look on their space and some even pry and look in their conversations, but in both cases, they are always there to guard the intereses of the guardee., And the other is welcomming newcommers. I (Dancer) belive most guardian angels just go to high U123456 researchers who are online rather then going to the welcome matt (except maybe the ones who are also ACEs)
Not long after the first ACE has arrived a Jurnal entry was posted to Dodgem(tm)'s space. It is then when I (Dancer) arrived on guardian angle duty to warn him that the place was addictive, as well as the coffee he was drinking. A couple of posts later another newcommer (Lurcher</LINK> posted to the conversation and asked for help with smilies, The conversation continued and Lucher was sucked into H2G2 and the aid of the GA as well <SMILEY TYPE="flyhi"/>, and now he's a regular face around here.
I can add a LOT more on GAs and going to newcommers' spaces, but I don;t know how much you want.

That parser is up to its silly tricks again. At least it isn't messing with the . I'll use the material - should be shoehorning it into the article today sometime. Then all we need is the survey...

Do you need more.
I see youre trying to "not be too long" so it is more readable to the general lurker, but if you are willing to mage the GA part a bit longer there's some cool stuff to add.

A little more would be fine - but no more than another small paragraph - remember that there is a link to the GA's page, so if people are interested, they can read on. The purpose of the series is to remove the veil of secrecy and lasck of information from the volunteer schemes, to identify areas that could be improved, and finally to take a balanced ('unbiased' is not exactly true, but near enough) look at the system.

I think what you wrote is great, and whoever needs more will just go to the GA page, as you said.
