I agree Ottox. Using violence to intimidate other people smacks of being a bully, not a hero.

Violence is sometimes justified, but not in this case. Hitting a guy for knocking a hat off? Good thing he didn't push her or he might have been killed. And why exactly did you have to ask about the gender first? We are supposed to have equality so if you're going to hit a person, it doesn't matter what gender they are. Just hit them.

This is what's known as chivalry, guys. Like I said in another post, I was with Vidmaster when he chased down the boy. The girl was very uncomfortable with the hat-knocker, having been bothered by him all day. She just didn't or couldn't do anything about it. Vidmaster saw this and put an end to the boy's annoying behavior.
No, it may not be extremely adherant to ideas of gender equality, being polite to a woman just because she's female. But is it more polite to be rude to males and females indiscriminately rather than show favorites?

Ah ha, an eye witness. If the boy was picking on that girl all day then that's a little different to me, I would call that harassment. Maybe he did deserve a good smack. Hard to know since I wasn't there.

Yeah, that does change matters. However, as I mentioned in the Is Chivalry Dead thing, if women want equality let them have it. Treat them no better than guys.
But still, far from being a hero.
