I suppose I could do the home-"town" thing, but who's really interested in reading about how much litter there is on matchdays here? smiley - biggrin

I've a few ideas for entries that I could write, but I haven't made any progress towards them, apart from some ideas churning in my mind for some of them.

The James Bulger murder, and the aftermath.
Jonathan Creek
Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister
PGP (pretty good privacy)
Bomberman - the computer game

I don't think any of them have an edited entry about them, although its worth a check. Also Perhaps you could write about:

Monopoly - The board game

I'll get back to you if I think of anything else. Also, I think there was a talking point on what people shoudl write about. I'll try to track it down.

I've found that Talking Point here A587180, on "
Guide Entries that Should Be Written"

This might be useful for inspiration, mr Inertia.

Bluebottle already did my home town. And the adjacent town, the one down the road, the one across the river, the piers of the county, the ferries, the geology, the avaition history, the anglo-saxon history, the railways and the castles. With more besides.

Guess where I come from smiley - winkeye

Hmmm... shouldn't it be "Monopoly: the bored game"?

I've got 4 Edited Entries... I think that about 2% of the h2g2 "population" must have accounted for all of the entries...?

Post 52

Less than that. The top researchers actually account for over 1% of the whole guide in just their solo entries.

Yeah, but the EG isn't the be-all and end-all. Visit F47999?thread=181336 and have a talk about a new idea of the community's.

Gnomon - time to move on

Well done, SmartGamer. Every entry counts towards the unique guide to Planet Earth. The more the merrier. The Edited Guide may not be the be-all and the end-all, but it is what I'm here for. The more people that help, the better! And you will get a great sense of achievement from writing entries and getting them accepted into the Edited Guide. It's a great confidence-building exercise.

Congrats to everybody who has contributed, including even the writer of A18541!

Congrats also to the editorial team on making this a really thriving internet phenomenon! smiley - bubbly

smiley - peacedoveWoodpigeon, (who got lots of factually suspect entries submitted before Peer Review came into being (whew - close one!).

The contributor of A18541 was actually the Executive Producer of h2g2 when it launched. And it's there in a (totally futile) attempt to stop people submitting it again and again and again (along with the answer to the ultimate question and endless stuff about towels).

And since it was Douglas who wrote the words originally, isn't it a little unfair to begrudge their inclusion?
