a friend of a friend said he'd heard about some crazy stuff in lake burley griffin, canberra. Apparrently it's so polluted by now that there are just crazily deformed fish getting created. They've been seen to steal ducks from off the surface and when they jump, everyone freaks out. Even the odd swan's been known to leave a red pool in the water. Well, here's the scarey bit. Apparrently the lake burley griffin monster fish has only one eye. It's rumoured to have been an experiment by a science student to see what kind of monster would be created in sullivans creek water after a few generations. Anyway, explain to me why the lake is closed for swimming!

Because it is polluted? That would be a good reason. Besides that this is probably an urban legend, what would the science student have done? Was it an experiment where he just left the fish alone to
mutate? I mean if the fish were already mutating, what could he have done?

no, like it's a family of multi-headed, single eyed huge giant fish monsters. Anyway, apparently this kid found that they hated light (their one eye having to be stronger to make up for the other one being missing) and so to quiet any risk of panic they let sailing happen (great view from black mountain tower) and so it's obviously not the water that's a problem, it's the actual monster in the water which might take a chunk out of some kid just trying to have fun but won't come above a few metres.
