Krake - giant squids

In norwegian mythology there is a monster called krake or kraken (first is undecided form). It´s simply a really big squid. really big squids do exist, but live specimens have not (to my knowledge) been found. What has been found are dead ones stranded on beaches, and traces of their suction cups on sperm whales!
Perhaps odder things are lurking in the deep
