Dragons, vampires, leprecauns...
Me and my sister still feeds our personal home-leprecaun, Sofus, corn flakes and cookies once a year. They're always gone the next morning, too! (He moved in the day that I was born to keep an eye on me - so my mum said)
And when I was young, in spite of all the facts on the subject, my mother told me that Murphy, the creator of Murphy's Law, was a tiny leprecaun that lived on top of the fridge and gave an evil chuckle each time something went wrong. I still think I hear some snickering, too.
The tooth fairy was always very kind. 5 kroner each time! So was Santa Claus, and there used to live ghosts in the forest nearby. We head the wicked sea-witch, dancing on the foam of the waves - we had to watch out for the waves with the white foam, 'cause if we got too close, she would drag us to her kingdom under sea.
There - some classical myths are just healthy for kids (and the older kids)

murphy was an engineer. He'd had trouble with a plane -- one he may actually have been flying. Anyway, what he said at this point, was that "if there is a right way to do something and many wrong ways, then someone will choose a wrong way" or something of the sort. Well, my story isn't very well told, but I can guarantee that murphy was a real person and not a leprechaun.

Yes, I know all that. That was what I meant with "in spite of all the facts on the subject," But as a little girl we (children in my neighbourhood) where told that Murphy indeed was a tiny leprechaun - and that was what I told you. Merely the fact that some children think he was a mythical creature.
