Problems with TV

I have come to believe that all problems stem from television.
- TV dumbs itself down so we dumb ourselves down for television.
People often will not bother to do anything if they know they can come home and switch
on the TV. If TV was not around then they might read, draw, listen to the radio or talk with their friends. In one word they would be more CREATIVE.TV tries to push so many of our buttons so much of the time that we no longer
know how to respond to real situations. We constantly think of them as 'unreal' or feel
'numb' because real life lacks the loud explosions and emotional cues that tell us how to
react. It leaves us feeling dislocated.TV messes with our sense of the world. We constantly find ourselves thinking in terms of 'that
special someone' or in a good guy bad guy frame of mind. This is a black and white view of
life.Television shortens people's attention spans. Everything on TV is presented quickly which means people tend not to bother about the details and get bored easily. This doesn't help people make informed or considered political decisions. Though perhaps it is better than no information at all?
The solution? Chuck the TV out of the window and go and read a good book.
