Okay, this is my first effort and I've been working on this for a couple of hours now. I figured I could submit it here and get some feedback. As a first entry I wanted to write about something fairly neutral and objective, so don't expect thrilling provocative stuff here.
Since I'm not a native English-speaker, I'd mostly appreciate some hints about style, structuring of sentences or just about grammar and spelling errors.
Also, those of you who are keen on astronomy (I know you're out there) are mostly invited to take a look at the actual content of this entry.
As always on WW: feedback appreciated

I just hit the 'post message' button when I realized I wanted to add that I'll be adding some links and possible a picture later on.

Speaking as a German, I wouldn't have noticed you weren't a native speaker if you hadn't stated otherwise
Speaking as a h2g2 Scout, I can't say anything other than that this is indeed excellent work and bound to go into the Edited guide . Alas, I haven't checked yet if your entry doubles any of the existing Edited entries in the astronomy field, for example those which belong to the University project at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A403930. For the moment I'm just assuming you did that already...
BTW, there's the H2G2 Astronomy Society at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A413876 , a place which you surely might want to visit

Hi Bessel, I actually did a quick check for doubles using 'celestial coordinate' and a few other terms as a search string. Of course it turned out that the university project you mention indeed has a page that covers most of what I've written.
See http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A573482
However, I think my entry is somewhat more detailed than that one. I'm not really sure if that entry has made into the edited Guide already (I don't think so), but if not, do you think I should contact the author to work something out?
As for the astronomical society, I've already stumbled upon that and let's say that my application is 'pending'
Thanks for the input.
And have a

And sorry for the double message. I noticed I spelled your nick wrong and hit the stop button to change it. Won't happen again

well, I'm nothing in comparison to Friedrich W. Bessel
Searching for the keywords 'Celestial Sphere' and others didn't reveal any entry which is already in the Edited Guide, so I have to assume that the project, although started sometime last year, isn't finished yet.
For your background,
(1) there's a rule that says that there won't be two entries in the Edited Guide about the same subject. If there's a collision between entries then this has to be handled by the h2g2 Update HQ at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A496451. Ok, this is not the case as the other entry isn't edited yet (and I'm unsure about the status of the whole project now).
(2) University projects do bypass the whole Peer Review process as they are (at least assumed to be) written by experts in the respective field and hence get into the Edited Guide straigt away.
The essence is: you should first contact the project leader (Cestus, http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/U177822) and the author of 'Celestial Sphere' (same ) about the status and perhaps a collaboration in the effort. If you aren't satisfied with the reply then I'd say that you should go over to Peer Review as a standalone entry.

Okay, now you know where that typo came from. All those famous Germans... I keep confusing them.

Okay, Cestus and I have established a collaboration and out entries will be merged into the Project entry. So... there's no need for this WW thread anymore since it's part of a university project now.
Again, thanks for helping me out on this one Bossel
Have a on my behalf
