We both survived the weekend without killing one another. Shes now gone off to stay with Grandma, and I will be following on either Wednesday or Thursday in time for Granny's 90th birthday party on the Friday.

Oh, I am *so* looking forward to this smiley - erm

Now I'm not sure which day I'm coming back home. It could be the Saturday, the Sunday or even Monday (smiley - yikes). So my guess is we'll miss each other at the weekend.

So, have another good week in Birmingham next week and I'll see you the weekend after, probably smiley - erm

It was actually all right. The party thing for Grandma was kind of strange. It was at 11am in the home with all the residents there and a few of Grandma's friends and neighbours from her old house. We all sat around making small talk and eating smiley - cake and . I know that sounds like torture but was some how quite enjoyable.

On the other days we went out for lots of drives around the area, meals in pubs and that sort of thing. My policy for the period was to keep a fixed smile and do what ever I was told to do. It worked out fine smiley - smiley

-------------------------

Well what did you expect? I'm staring my usual "three month crash" straight in the face. All but one (well technically two) of my relationships have fallen apart after this length of time.

One or other of us always gets cold feet.
She, because she has taken what ever it was about me that allowed her to pull herself up by her bootstraps and carry on with her life, and has now decided to carry on with it without me. (They're all grateful for my support though - how nice <sarcasticsmiley - smiley&gtsmiley - winkeye
Me, because I don't want to commit / don't want them to get too close / have got bored of her whining.

This week I think will tell.

Well I have to be right somewhere smiley - tongueout

How has your week been smiley - hug

I know I am not a living example of it but it does not always have to go wrong! If you think it will it will but who knos I believe that one day each of us meets someone and it just feels right. I wonder how this week has gone for the two of you - let me know?

I have had quite a good week! Went to the cinema with a friend on Tuesday and we finally got to see Lord of the Rings - really enjoyed it! It was great to see him and we spent some time together afterwards too which was great!

Work has been, well work! But hey its Friday now and I am home! Oh - I have been invited the company Global HR Forum (which is a v senior thing and is a week in France!) I an stupidly excited about that - time with the powers that be and a serious career enhancement oportunity! smiley - biggrin One of about 20 people.

The pub is surrounded by scaffold which I hope is a good thing - I need to catch up on village gossip this weekend!

Oh and other big news - I became an Aunt for the second time today - my sister had a daughter today smiley - smiley

Hope to actually catch up with you this weekend

Congrats on the Auntie thing, and on the job thing as well. You seem to be turning into a high powered career person nowadays, an you know what that means don't you? Its your round at the next meet smiley - drunk

The three things that have happened to me this week are:
1) I've split up with Lucy
2) I won an h2g2 tee shirt in the caption competition (A698501)
3) And have been made a Guru

2) I will only buy the drink if you are wearing this!
3) Fantastic - now I have someone else to ask when I get stuck - well done smiley - kiss

The break up was kind of inevetable really. I'd come to a point where I really didn't want to commit to a relationship at a deeper level. Lucy definitely wanted more from me and I was not prepared to go there. I know she is upset about this, but there is nothing I can do about that. I doubt whether I shall ever see her again other than bumping into one another around the hospital site maybe.

I guess its a shame, but not everything is destined to work out.

I guess not everything does work out - it can be tough thought!

Well done for realising and being able to say when things were not going where you wanted them to - thats tough too smiley - hug

Still ever onwards ....

I notice you have been here more so that has to be good for the rest of us

Well its been a quiet week in some respects. But its a quiet before the storm. Work is just coasting along as we await the reorganisation of the department to take place. No one has any great clue as to which jobs are going to be allocated to which individuals, or where said jobs are going to be located.

What I do know is that I won't be doing the same job as I am at the moment. The four constituent parts of my post are each going into four different posts, of which only one has a body linked to it at the moment. If I'm lucky I might get the chance to change completely and go for a promotion, if I'm unlucky I'll be lumbered with the costing job (in which case I'll leave.) Or what is most likely, I'll carry on looking after the Paediatrics & Maternity stuff but will have some other bits and pieces thrown in my direction.

The other big issue is the location of the jobs. The plan is to locate half of the posts at the merged hospital site up in Haywards Heath. I'd be quite happy to commute as they'll pay my petrol money for next few years if they make me move. The office space up there is much nicer as well - no more living in a basement smiley - smiley The downside is that there would be no more lunchtime walks along the seafront smiley - sadface

Ho hum. We will see what we will see in the fullness of time I suppose.

On another front I've been getting used to being single again. And I have to say I don't like it too much. I've already cooked too much food one night because I wasn't thinking who I was cooking for - that extra handful of rice just went straight into the pot. I've also missed having someone else around, not to do or to say anything to, but just being there. I guess I'll get used to it in time, after all it was my decision, and it was the right one.

So how is Brum and the new house?
