The fedging nurds of lunar aporol think that the answer is "What? I can't hear you! Speak up!"

'The orthodox answer to The Question of The Meaning of LU'nE is generally agreed to be 42, even outside the Galaxy. However, there are sects outside our galaxy who think the whole thing's been a ghastly mistake.'
The inhabitants of the sea in the constellation Pisces, which by lucky coincidence just happens to be thethat the dolphins migrated to before the destruction of the, know that the answer is not 42 at all.
The answer is in fact "You should have listened to the dolphins, because they knew all along!"

LOL! Lovely entry in the highest DNA tradition. Found myself enjoying it as much a newly discovered fragment from our founder, mentor and inspiration. Thank you.
(On my home page you will discover the answer is really "41")

I've met a lot of people who, in light of what I've just read, are obviously aliens. They go around, looking grim, believing that the answer is 'fortitude'. They're the ones who have a permanent scowl, and look as if they expect to be shoved sideways at any moment. Their mission on earth is evidently to hunt down and enslave the last surviving natives of the water planet, C'mnin F'rakwik 1, the once monumentally carefree Seasilliuns.

Seven of Nine [(1x52)-2-8]x1=42! Posted Aug 25, 2001
I speak on behalf of a perfect race called the Borg.
The answer to the question is not 42.
There is only one answer and that is ONE.
If you are at one with yourself, you are perfect.
There is no need for any other.
Perfection comes from within, not without.
One is all that is needed.

Ah! So you're followers of Mona Fish, of 1 The Terrace, Bridlington, then?
Or is she a secret follower of yours?

Some of Mrs. Mona Fish of One The Terrace Bridlington's unorthodox cultish followers, that is.
But who nose? Her secret, esoteric message may indeed have been One (as opposed to her exoteric message of Faulty Truth - no FT, no opinion), and she might well have got this secretly from you in a time warp or vice versa or something.
But what do I no? I'm just zis guy....y'know?.........

That should have been no FT (42, Faulty Truth or whatever) no comment - I think.
But what do I no, I'm just zis guy, you know?.....

Don't ask me, I'm just zis guy y'know? I don't even no how to play poker

It has a lot to do with smoking cigars and looking serious ... if what one sees on TV is to be believed... which, of course, it is.
Not a code, just a puzzle... with a lot of pieces missing.

Sorry, Jimmy the goldfish, but I'll have to alert the monsters (sorry, monitors) for you even doubting - albeit momentarily, for a short time and briefly - the Belief-Rating of the TV. Your caveat didn't fool me for a second on my digital watch, (which is pretty neat).
So I shall have to press the Now Really Panic button unless you can think of a reason, excuse or lie as to why I shouldn't.

And would it work if I saw your 'Just zis guy" and raised you fifteen inches?
Puzzled, from Guildford (somewhere in the region of Betelgeuse according to the infinite perspective vortex, which incidentally showed me too what a great guy I am )......

Then I'd be just zis elevated guy, you know?
Sorry for seeming to, even for a minute, even for a very tiny, even for a very far from large increment useful for measuring time, believe that the soothing sounds and coloured light of the goggle box is anything less than the very purest sort of truth , a sort of truth washed in the most thoroughly advertised detergent imaginable... twice.
By way of excuse, I did once submit an article to the ancient Eds that was such shameless BBC toadying that it hasn't yet been un-rejected , even after the beebification of the Guide.

*still here and *
My apologies for the sourpuss remark (earlier, elsewhere) there Jug the Gourd. But now I'll bet you're as glad as I am to see Grimie hung in long enough to figger out there really are some folks here (like yourself, Johan the Garp) who still remember and honour the Founder.
Grimie's enthusiasm has been a breath of fresh air. And he seems to have tickled your funny bone now too!
It's nice to see you both running free from the fear-of-being-silly.
