A Conversation for Surfing Waves

This looks OK, but it's got a lot of stuff in it that's history. Your other entry on surfing's history is excellent, and there's no need to repeat that stuff here. One of the things I find quite hard to do when writing entries, but which does improve them, is to completely focus on the subject and not be tempted to write about something else which is close to it. In this case, I'd say focus completely on what you actually DO when surfing, from getting the right board to actually standing on it on a wave. Relevant stuff would be choice of board, types of waves, surfing etiquette, techniques. Anything else (fashion, famous surfers, history, specific spots etc.) which doesn't concern that is either (a) irrelevant and should be dropped or, better, (b) relevant but should be in a different entry. You've already done an excellent guide to San Diego.
Here's an idea: I don't know enough (I think) to write this myself, but you could begin the Hitchhiker's Guide to surf beaches. All it would take is a "front page" which defines what you need to know about a surf beach: where it is, where you park, what kind of break it is, how often it works, where the nearest shop is for leashes/wax/etc, where you can stay/camp nearby, any other vital stuff. Anyone else who wants to write an entry about their local beach(es) can then link to your front page. Once you've written it, the Editors could keep it updated and it could become the H2G2 equivalent of the Stormrider Guide... >drifts off into daydream...< Just a thought...
If you're keen (and you've already written three entries so you seem keen!) you'll probably find yourself knocking out several linked articles at once, all of which just improves your chances of getting them in the edited guide.
Best of luck and all that...

Yeah its a good entry - I agree that it needs splitting up into sub sections rather than combining the physical act of suring with in depth history.
Also im not sure about including bodyboarding in there
