This is an entry about a key film in cinema history.
I think the Entry gives a good synopsis of the plot and the reasons the film is considered great.
I hope this is more the sort of thing for the edited guide.
Scott Bennett.

Yes
There's only some editorial nit-picking from my side:
- shorter paragraphs please
- the paragraphs are looking best if you enclose them in the GuideML "" tag: ...contents here...
that's it!

not only did it get translated to spaghetti western format for the magnificent seven, but it also got turned into sci-fi in the film battle beyond the stars.
this and other movies by the same bloke were severe inspiration for george lucas. This has had a serious influence on the form of all of george's films.

One of the greatest movies of all time...
And you did a rather great job of describing it.
It seems as though you've fixed up the paragraph issue. Unless you haven't, of course, in which case I'm an oblivious fool, or I'm just glad to see a worthy entry on an amazing movie.

looking good
(I could be wrong but somehow I'm feeling you *deleted* stuff from the entry -- perhaps I should check my english books, I only wanted to ask for the paras to be split into smaller pieces)

Good article, but I have one question.
It's been a little while since I saw the film, but are the bandits actually ronin? I know there's a big thing made of the fact that the villagers have suffered at the hands of samurai and ronin for years, but I thought the bandits were something else. If nothing else, the six are appalled at the idea of the villagers having killed samurai, and refuse to use dead men's armour and weapons, but they encourage them to fight the bandits, and go out of their way to steal their guns.
As I say though, it's been a while since I saw it.
The Prophet.

No I didn't delete anything and I will consider adding something about famous influencees like Lucas.
On the ronin question I always thought the bandits were. The reason the seven are willing to fight them is that they are being paid to fight them (this after all is what samurai do). The reason they are uspet about the armour is because it was obtained not in open combat but through killing samurai in their sleep or by surprise who were not necessarily bandits. If the villagers were skilled in enough in the martial arts to take on so many samurai fairly they would never have needed the help of their employees.
Thanks for nice comments

Ok I've added that bit about Directors influence by Kurosawa and Seven Samurai.
I have also put in a few links.

I had the same problem.
It's too early to recommend it, so I guess we ought to figure out ways of perfecting perfection...
I'm still thinking about how to go about doing so, but does anyone have any ideas?
