I kept on thinking "All must be about to be revealed. I know, they're just about to split up. Or maybe she's pregnant. Or they're planning an assassination. Or..."

It's sort of an experiment. I wanted to remove as many facts as possible but maintain a storyline.
My plan was to introduce a new character in the next part who dealt in facts, but the man couldn't handle it. Gradually what is actually going on would be revealed.
Just another example of how weird my brain is :p
