i was watching tv on saturday and saw robbie williams in his own show and i think that he may be a possable replacement as the front man as he has a lot of energy and on stage pressance.

Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest men alive

I'd have to disagree Cybercat. Freddie was a brilliant musician and entertainer (as all Queen fans will agree) but I think even he would not have classed himself as one of the "greatest men alive". He was a "very naughty boy" most of the time. It caught up with him in the end and we lost a musical genius.
As for Robbie Williams taking a front man role in Queen...I'd like to see a one off performance, just one song, but that's all. I adore RW - he's yummy as well as talented (my opinion and I don't expect everyone to share it) but he aint no Freddie.
If (big if) Queen ever want to tour again I don't believe they should choose just one front man. It should be like the tribute and have lots of guest appearances. Freddie was versatile enough to sing "Tie Your Mother Down" one minute and "Who Wants to Live Forever" the next. I don't believe there is one person able to cope across the board.

true. One person can fit at one point, another another time. How about George Michael though? He seemed to fit quite well.

I agree he was naughty but still....
Did you watch the Queen+ concert in 1992
Didn`t George Michael hit those High notes well?

Hehehehehehe..
Just bought the greatest hits DVD for my Ma for x-mas. Guess what I'm hoping we'll be doing come x-mas day??!??
No-one can take the place of Freddie. He was a one off and they broke the mould. Some peeps can do some of his songs, but no-one can get away with the stuff he did on stage. While watching the jubilee concert we had a (drunked) conversation as to whether Freddie would have turned up in ermine and crown for God Save the Queen. The conclusion, of course, was yes..!

I was lucky enough to be at Freddie's tribute concert (about 10 rows of bodies back) and I thought most of the guests did a very good job with their chosen songs.
George Michael did Somebody to Love brilliantly yes - but I don't think he could do any of the "heavier" numbers. Axl Rose did a fine job of We Will Rock You and Gary Cherone of Extreme was brilliant with Hammer to Fall (he would be my choice of frontman if it came down to it - very versatile as shown in the medley they did at the beginning). Each of their voices matched the songs.
One more thing - women should *never* sing Queen songs. I cringed when Lisa Stansfield f***ed up I Want to Break Free and Annie Lennox forgot the words to Under Pressure.
Just to contradict myself though I have been to see the stage show "We Will Rock You" and the women in that really belt out some good versions - especially the big black lady that is "Killer Queen". (Go see it - it is goooood!)
