Hi there, a Lighthouse, amazing. When I heard it was here I just had to come and look smiley - smiley

Would you be able to show me round? I am really pleased someone decided to build one here, tell me how you came up with the idea? Have you always liked Lighthouses?

This place looks fab - what a beautiful setting

Hi - glad you like it! smiley - smiley

Why did I chose a Lighthouse? - I guess The Beach seemed a cool place to live and a lighthouse seemed appropriate. I like the idea that a lighthouse symbolises knowledge 'lighting up the world' which is what H2G2 does. I've also always found the Pharos at Alexandria (one of The Seven Wonders) fascinating.

Considering your user name, would you like to have permanent use of Guestroom #1 in The Lighthouse? As I've got the builders in, your welcome to specify what decor and furnishings you want.

Hi Alex

Thank you - I would be honoured to take up residence in guest room number 1! As for decor, I am rather partial to purple so something incorporating that would be wonderful smiley - biggrin

The symbolism of Lighthouses is an important part of their attraction for me too, standing up for what is right against all the elements and what ever the world throws at it and helping people find their way. It kind of symbolises for me how I would like to live my life - an ideal to aspire to if you like.

I have always wanted to live by the sea, but have yet to achieve it. How about you?

Guest Room #1 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A617014) is ready for you to move in whenever you want. I've made you a researcher for thiis entry so you can add/change whatever you like - it's your room after all.

I've never lived by the sea, but have spend many holidays by the sea-side.

(Apologies for interrupting)
I've lived next door to the sea for all my life, and I must say that it really is worth it.
Although you do take the beach for granted. I've not swam in about 5 years. smiley - blue I still love the beach, though, which is why I started one on h2g2.
