Personally, i believe most people WANT to believe there is ghosts because they make themselves believe there might be a chance they can come back,
The thought of dying scares me, the feeling i wont be around to see new inventions, no more sport, no nothing! 
.. thats why i want to see one, gives me hope that i can come back, im also a Atheist, so i also dont think there is a heaven or hell, so for me, i have to keep a open mind on ghosts...
