When we having a proper meet again then?
Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Jan 12, 2004
I think you'll find I've already used the "bloody students" gag in my journal some three months ago.
Anyway Zagreb, if we have the meet on the 14th, you can always bring your grandad along.

Yes, but we won't be having the meet on the 14th because as I've already explained it's NOT CONVENIENT FOR SOME OF US.
Besides, my Grandad lives in Bolton.
Given that the last meet was only a week or so ago, I suggest later in the month rather than earlier.

Middle nostril
Do we have to bring our grandads? It's just that those of us who have some genealogical difficulties might find it difficult, and have to say they live somewhere very unlikely - Mars, Europa or Bolton - and can't make it.

I like the idea of having a meet in late February.. HOw about the 29th? Oh.. Just checked, that would be a Sunday, so I wouldn't be able to make that. 28th, then??
If we're having it in Edinburgh, I call fords' spare room. Speaking of which, what's your spare room's number, fords?

Seeing as you're the first, you get to call the double futon - anyone else can have the floor
As for my spare room having a number, you've lost me there!

28th is good. It cant be the 7th - I'll be in London. So if you dont want me to turn up the 7th is the day to go with!

28th sounds OK to me. There's "extra" work to do at the moment at the hospital (weekend work) but it would involve working 7 days full and (seeing as I've been given the option) I think I'll turn down the money and hang on to my sanity.

Sure thing, Eggman - you'll need to bring a sleeping bag though.
The 28 is perfect for me, I get paid the day before

Well, I was going to suggest the 28th, but you seem to have beaten me to it. That way we can pretend it's a party to celebrate the leap year, and not just a load of people getting p*ssed for no reason.

Of course, the polite thing to do would be to have a non-pub-based event in the afternoon for those of us who are not of drinking age. We've tried this before, but I don't think we've ever managed it.

Oooh, a Not-Quite A Leap Year celebration? Sounds good!

why dont we just do pub based and underage people just dont go to the bar?

So it'll be a Scottish Leap Year Celebratory Researcher's Assembly (Scottish LYCRA)?
I think Bowling could be an idea to start things off with. Minors are allowed, and we'd get to see once and for all, who the Scottish Champ really is (that'd be me for anyone who didn't already knows it )...
