*knock, knock* Hello....?
Santragenius V Started conversation Oct 21, 2003
I would very much like to politely ask if anybody from this esteemed group of researchers might be around in Edinburgh for a mini-meet of sorts around Fri 14 Nov?
Thing is, my wife (who alas has not yet seen the light and signed up ) is going to a conference in E. from Thu to Mon - and I will be coming over on Friday and leave Monday as well.
The plans for which part of the conference Ms SG V will have to sit in is not yet officially known - at least I don't have a clue - but word has gotten out that Friday might be a good day for me to pow-wow with H2G2ers...
I probably will be able to firm that up at least a few days before the 14th...
Oh, and just for the record, in a previous lifetime (say, 4-5 years ago), I was able to speak a reasonably proper Glaswegian. Given a couple of hours practice (and, just maybe, a little ) I hope to be able to reacquire that precious skill

You don't want to mention Glaswegians in Edinburgh .
Hope you get some interest in your mini-meet - alas I won't be there as I am stuck down here in the deepest south-east for the near foreseeable.
Enjoy!

Alas, I too am previously booked for the 14th.
Given the nature of the event for which I am pre-booked (a mutual friend's birthday bash) I'd suspect Zantic, Munchkin, Toccata and our esteemed master Jamie would be booked too.

Oh well - that's life. If I get a gist that other parts of the weekend might be accepted by the higher authorities , I'll drop a note...
If anyone should like to drop an offline note, chances are that I'll check santrageniusv@hotmail.com once in a blue moon...
Have a good birthday bash

Well, there's plenty of people in Edinburgh - I'm sure some of them will be up for it (so far all of us who can't do Friday are in Glasgow).

Once we get nearer, maybe you could drop me a mail at the above address? That'll also mean that I have a better idea about just exactly when it is I'll be there etc...

Me too, Friday is my usual night off from separating taxi passengers from their ill-gotten wages of sin so I could be persuaded to put some of it back into circulation.

Parts of the plan has tickled in - looks like an after-work kind of thing just now:
I'm arriving 'round noon, meet the Ms for lunch - and have time off (metaphorically speaking ) until I have to be at Morrison Street around 7:45 or so.
Does that look possible for anybody?
(will mail whoever I can dig up address for... to look )

Where are we going?
*knock, knock* Hello....?
Santragenius V Posted Nov 13, 2003
Somewhere that doesn't have a long line to get a ... or two?
If it also could be within walking distance of Morrison Street, it'd be doubly fine (I haven't got a clue about the geography yet - hope to get a wee look on a map later t'night)
Other than that, I'll leave it in the capable hands of the locals...
