Mad is relative

How about "uncursed with reason"? It is used in a poem by Charlotte Smith (the only poet I can say I enjoy from beginning to end) called "On Being Cautioned against Walking on an Headland Overlooking the Sea, Because it was Frequented by a Lunatic." I think it dates to the late 18th century. I do have a book of her poems should you want the entire text.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
