A Conversation for Menstruation
attitudes towards menses
ShiraBee Started conversation May 13, 2003
This piece is interesting but reflects only certain attitudes towards menstruation. Many menstruators don't mind menstruating, and some even enjoy it. Discomfort that accompanies the menstrual cycle often has a lot to do with poor diet, sleep patterns or stress situations.
Also, not all women menstruate. There are women who either do not menstruate yet or have gone through menopause and no longer menstruate; there are also intersex and transsexual and transgender women who may not menstruate. There are also many women with eating disorders who don't menstruate because of problematic eating habits. There are many many reasons that women might not menstruate.
