I have this album and i have to say that it doesn't deserve even half of the praise you give it. James Blunt has managed to perform the trick of almost every solo artist, in creating music that, while sounding rather nice, has so little to it that my pet fish could do as well. yes the lyrics are, in places, very good and he has a great voice but personally I'd rather listen to a band that can actually play their instruments.

Well its not a band, he's a solo artist and I've seen him perform with an acoustic guitar, which is an instrument. Liking and disliking the songs is a subjective matter, but perhaps the way the music is all too similar (as I did point out) is one of the reasons you don't like it. Then again, maybe not.

i've heard him singing 'beautiful' live on the radio with just him, his guitar and a drummer, and although it wasn't the same as he sounds on the album it was still impressive. a refreshing take on a song which, owing largely to radio 1, has become rather overplayed. i think he's a talented individual who's done really well and i think his music, if a little similar, is still excellent. no bravery is one of my favourites (apparently he wrote it while he was lying in a sleeping bag inside a tank when he was in the army).
