As an able bodied person I have never really noticed the accessibility problems for wheelchair users. I feel guilty about this now and I feel that when I am shopping I will pay more attention to the layout of the shop.
If you want people to look at this entry and comment on the shops in their area then put something in your name such as (wheelchair users go to A590555) and maybe put a conversation forum in ask h2g2, headed 'Wheelchair users your opinions wanted...' then put a link to your article and ask them to coment on their area, stating where they're from and shops thay have found good/bad.
As you say this entry probably isn't suitable for the edited guide but it definately has it's place in h2g2. Maybe if a lot of people respond and you get good feedback you can submit it at a later date.

P.S how about changing the title to Wheelchair Access in Nuneaton and Coventry, or something which gives a hint to what is contained in the articles.

Good Idea, this title was originally invented for a slightly different type of site, where there wouldn't be as many articles.
I'll do that now.

Looking good
Go for that thing after your name, and whack it into Ask h2g2 and you should get some good responses!

I'm amazed.
Thanks Mel. I asked h2g2 about 3 hours ago and I've already had 2 replies.

Great article, very useful. I don't know if there's articles on Coventry and Nuneaton (I'm too lazy to look ) but if there are maybe this could be integrated into them.
Oh and the comments material at the bottom is also good stuff but doesn't really fit under the title... how about making them into another article / articles?
I work for a company that provides computer equipment for disabled and special needs users (well, I say 'work', but I've been playing on h2g2 all afternoon ) and it always amuses me that our office is up a steep flight of stairs with no conceivable hope of getting a wheelchair up here...

Yes I was thinking of changing the name. I'm going to change it to 'Wheelchair Access Survey'. I don't think there's much about Nuneaton or Coventry. I may change that (if I get time).

Well it's something to write about, other than driving lessons (see my journal)!

On my first driving lesson I passed seven accidents, but fortunately wasn't involved in any. Did you get your money back for the lesson?

I haven't paid yet, he hadn't even mentioned paying before the start of the lesson. I rang mum, she was only about 1 minute away, and the instructor let me go.

I was put off for most of last night. This morning I started thinking rationally. I'll have another go next week!

I'm not really here Posted Aug 14, 2001
This is interesting, I thought it would be an entry headed for the guide about wheelchair access in general. The Taxi trade is having a lot of arguments about having to become wheelchair accessible atm, and it's a long running debate.
