I just thought how it would be to get more of that Ford Prefect attitude into the Guide
Seriously: We have researchers from all over the world. Many of us live in touristicly attractive areas. How do you recognize that someone is a tourist? How should somebody behave in order not to be recognized as a tourist?
This might be an interesting and absolutely useless topic

This is a question.
First of all look bored, you have been here a thousand times.
Secondly dress common, you should not attract too much attention by your wears.
Hide your towel, walk round as if you know the way, do not stop to read any signs that were there yesterday.
Feel free, you are in control.
The matter is not wat to do, more what you should not do.
Do not advise the Guide in public.
Do not interact with the authorities, just say hi to the guy who checks the tickets as if you know him.
And most inportant of all use others to guide you, let someone else pay, drive and so on.

With this question in mind I have been searching all over, testing in some cases. It has something to do with commonity. As long as you are common, in a crowd, you wont be seen.
Think of the endless discussion who is to blame in traffic conditions. Car drivers accuse cyclers, cyclers the pedestians and so on. In fact only the few misbehaving themselves are seen, and remembered. As traveller in time I should be seen, it is a misbehavior to travel that way.
Key: Complain about this post

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
