Yep.Bill Bryson is the only author who has ever made me laugh out loud through reading, guaranteeing many strange looks on the train. While Douglas Adams is by far my favourite author, his books tend to be funny in an ''aaaaaaaah, i get that now'' wa y. read stephen fry's introduction to the salmon of doubt and you'll get what i mean.
