Mr Toad's encounter

What a magnificent specimen. I can't recall the last time I saw one, so I guess you were lucky. Common toads aren't poisonous, I don't think, but I know the Cane Toads - the Aussie menace - are. I'm glad your employers were delighted with your find and not grossed out. Some people hate toads for the noise they make, and I recall a story where someone relased toads in someone's pond (whom they wanted to annoy) but I don't remember the titlesmiley - yikes

I'm not sure, I think all 'real' toads secrete some poison, but it's not poisonous for humans in most cases (cane toads excepted).

Common toads don't have those vocal sacs from what I found, but most frogs do (and other toads, too. Here's a link for the natterjack: http://www.herpconstrust.org.uk/animals/natterjack_call.htm)

Isn't hootoo just wonderful? Now that the boys are hardly ever at home any more, I still have people to share such things with. smiley - smooch
