being dislexic am am often taken for being stupid becase I carnt write or sepll propperly, but on intelagence tests and the like where I dont have to wite anything I do them verbally I score abouve adveradge. one of the Ts who used to work with me said that if she had caught me befer the schoolsistem got hold of me and I was told I was thick for 4 years I would have proberly done better becae of the self forfilling profacyt things. I just thought that it could be worth a menchan about things like dislexe, dispraxea, and autism, becase in those condishions ther are things you carnt do that people will think means you arnt intellagent, but for examle autistic people usually have at least one skill that they are amazing at, like painting or somthing. and I am dislexic, and keep scoring above adveradge on IQ tests and exams at school.

A very good point, and one I should have thought of myself owing to the fact that I had dysgraphia, which while diagnosed while I was at school, was not mentioned to anyone except my doctor, who did not deem it worthy of mentioning to anyone else.
As soon as I can figure out where to put it, I will create a page about why some people are thought to be thick, when in actual fact they have one of a number of other problems like dyslexia, attention defecit hyperactivity disorder, poor eysight combined with being put at the back of the class, so that they can't see the blackboard, or mild deafness meaning they can't hear the teacher. thanks for pointing out this hole.

well bob, there is now an entry about these sort of problems, so come back, have a look around, and leave any feedback so that it can be further improved.

I just saw you need a new name for the intelligence and genius article, how about:
The Nature of Intelligence and Genius
or
The Reasons for Genius and The Nature of Intelligence
I don't know if these are actually very good as I am off [well that's my excuse]. But are they any help? or are they too long winded?

thanks for the suggestions, but what I am really looking for is something with the same feel, that talks about hi-iq, but avoids the negative "snooty" implication that genius seems to have.
ps any ideas for the animal intelligence and theories of intelligence pages, as they seem to be a bit sparse of info.
