I wonder if the public/pubic connection isn't much more common than we suspect...
I've done it numerous times (getting my pubic mixed up with my public) and I see there's another on the list for this dubious honour.

Since part of my job now involves preparing school forms...
*panics*
(I *will* read over all these forms again before they go out to the schools!!)
Part of the problem is that 'pubic' doesn't show up in a spell-checker as incorrect when it replaces 'public' and 'public' and 'pubic' look almost the same in a quick proof read.

Exactly the problem I had with my CV!
The C.A.T. course is there for exactly these typos!
