Are you sure? - it works for me. It takes me to an entry by VP in the Shea fan club thread, where he says "Hex you guys" rather than "Hey you guys".

The link sends me to the first red bullet (postings 1-20) in the Fan club, but there's no vogonpoet in it, nor a 'hex' typo.
Am I

Humm - well you are getting to the correct thread but it should take you directly to post 3853. It does this for me, so I don't understand what has happened. I'll have a look at lunchtime.

That's deeply bizarre, since I didn't have time to change anything. Do you know if there is a standard format for linking to particular postings?

Don't know of any standard 
Normally I use the 'first reply' link in the previous posting in cases like this. Failing that, there seems no way other than looking at the HTML, identifying the corresponding tag, and fiddling the pieces together

It's possible to copy the links from the little arrows taking you to the next or previous posting but these contain amphasands (sp.?) which GuideML doesn't like much (in fact the "first reply" does the same). To get them to work, I have replaced the "&"s with "?"s which works for me, but may be causing the problems.
